Leaders struggling with stress/anxiety
Leaders are as susceptible to anxiety as anyone else. Almost every day we read a new article or research study showing stress and anxiety is rising. Who doesn’t feel overwhelmed or stretched thin sometimes? But when stress is relentless, it can lead to unhealthy levels of anxiety which is a serious problem.
I work with leaders who recognise their stress or anxiety is edging towards unhealthy, and they want to do something now. It may be a confidence issue, obsessive behaviours getting in the way, a strong desire for control, or constant stress that feels like it has a hold.
Leaders who want to have a better work/life balance
Leaving personal issues at home when you arrive at the office, or leaving work problems in the office when you arrive home, is difficult. Managing your thinking, gaining perspective, and building your sense of personal control are all skills that can be improved to maximise work/life balance.
Thriving is about feeling in control of and happy with every aspect of your life - your personal and your professional life. We acknowledge that there are stressful times in everyone’s life, but being able to recover quickly from those setbacks so you're able to thrive again as quickly as possible is within everyone’s reach.
Many leaders want to enjoy the mental stimulation within their career, understand the importance of connecting with family and friends, and still have some time to themselves where they can breathe. Yet many leaders I speak to feel they are uncomfortably stressed, and/or feeling guilty that they’re not giving their best to any of these important parts of their lives.
